The 'HOLY' church?

What is considered by the 'bible' as the true church?

Church - The body of true believers (born again ones). |
1Cr 12:27 KJV - Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. | Initial event established at Pentecost, with signs and wonders. | Act 2:17 KJV - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: | Also the beginning of the age of grace, where salvation is freely given by God. | 2Ti 1:9 KJV - Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, | Eph 2:8 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: | Though also a time of trial and tribulation, and many Christian martyrs occurred throughout the ages (many by the Holy Roman Catholic Church), and even unto modern times (not in America, or such civilized nations.. so far), but certainly in certain 3rd world countries.

Although the term church (Eclessia) primarily refers to the full body of born again believers (Christians by birth), it also can also refer to individual churches [gatherings of Christian believers]. However the word church can also be applied to unbelievers as well, since it's basic definition according to the Greek word is 'ecclesia' - a gathering of people together in one place in accord (assembly). The general picture of a modern or post modern Christian church often consists of a fancy building with; stained glass windows, an alter, a cross, a steeple, and pews, etc, etc, etc. The word however does not refer to the early Christian church as being so lavishly adorned, in fact the place where they met to worship was often in individual believers homes - a simple and yet comforting atmosphere in the home is plenty adequate for fellowship and worship. They met for public (large group) worship and teachings in the temple, and for private worship and fellowshipping in believers homes (small group). The word church generally refers to the believers bonded together for fellowshipping etc., and these believers are what consists of the true church, which is also the body of Christ - each member being a part of his body, Christ being the head of the church. |

1Cr 12:12-14 KJV - For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized [immersed] into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. | Figure of speech, passage. This emphatically consists of all 'true' believers (born again ones), whether in fellowship or alone (solo). I'm an admitted solo believer, as I abhor traditional dogma (much taught error). But will however engage in fellowship, when things are to my liking. |

Mat 16:18 KJV - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. | Peter was but a tiny pebble (petros), but Jesus was a huge rock (petra). | The prophesied birth of Christianity, which is; the true 'spiritual' church. | Act 2:47 KJV - Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. | People believed, and the church grew. | Act 14:27 KJV - And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles. | The believers there were assembled, and things were explained. No more spiritual segregation, between Jews (chosen) and gentiles (others) | 1Cr 1:2 KJV - Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: | Message to believers everywhere. | Eph 5:27 KJV - That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. | Christ's desire (dream), that the church would be pure (white) - didn't happen, as prophesied (Jesus, Paul); division (many denominations), deception (false bible teachings), rebellion (departing the faith), etc. | Col 1:18 KJV - And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence. | But (resurrected) Christ reigns over all (believers), no matter of the 'dark' things (Satan's influence).
