Spiritual gifts?

What does the term 'gifts' imply?

It is simply the believers set of 'spiritual' (holy) powers, given by god at our moment of glory (belief of truth). Whether we use them or not, is our choice (just as was our 'faith' choice). Anyway, these powers are the 9 manifestations of 'spirit' (Inspiration: Speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy. - Revelation: Words of wisdom, words of knowledge, discerning of spirits. - Power: Faith, working of miracles, gifts of healing.). |

1Cr 12:1-11 KJV - Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. | Explained later, in Holy spirit section | Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. | The implication in the context above is confusing, which is exactly why there are Charismatic churches (wrong interpretation of this, and related scripture). My learned interpretation, is that every believer has the power to operate all of the nine manifestations, according to given need. And further in-depth study of the topic reveals the fact. Now to confuse even more. |

1Cr 12:27-30 KJV - Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. | The word 'ye' implies all believers, and 'members' individually. | And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. | The words in brackets are italic in the KJV bible, purposefully indicated by the scribes. My interpretation is that Paul is simply emphatically closing the topic of spiritual gifts, to bring forth the better thing, LOVE. |

1Cr 13:1-13 KJV - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. | The word 'charity' means 'perfect love' (translation error). |  And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. | Love endures forever. | For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. | As human believers, we have limited vision, which expands at Christ's appearance. | And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity. | Pure love is the greatest quality to have period. The perfect love God gives, which is different than man's concept of love.
