Are the dead alive now?

Only in fiction movies, as image above portrays (from Evil Dead)

You may believe the traditional concept that when any human or animal dies it either immediately goes up to the pearly gates of heaven, or down to the fiery inferno of hell. Also you may believe that ghosts of the dead can be brought back to life at séances or by other such means. However this is not what scripture reveals. The reason these things are present is because of devil spirits (known as familiar spirits) at work deceiving mankind. These devil or evil spirits pose as ghosts or other such phenomena (remember that these are spirit beings and capable to some given degree of transforming themselves in various ways - to fool us humans) in many spiritualist and some Christian environments - depending on the gullibility of the audience present. Yes these spirits are real, but they are not human or animal, but instead disguised spirit beings out to have some evil fun. The prime purpose of their fun is to keep people from believing in the true God and his son Jesus Christ. |

Gen 3:19 - In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return [the grave]. | Job 14:10 - But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? | Job 14:12 - So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep [this is where the dead go to, a place where there is nothing at all - till the awakening trumpet call]. | Job 14:14 - If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come [at the resurrection]. | Job 21:13 - They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. |

Ps 6:5 - For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? | Ps 146:3-4 - Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. | Ps 115:17 - The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. | Ps 89:48 - What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he [the man himself] deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah. | Ps 49:12-15 - Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave [at the resurrection]: for he shall receive me. Selah. |

Eccl 9:5-10 - For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works. Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment. Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. | All living flesh will be left to decompose back to where God created it from (matter), and once a person takes their last breath, their is no life left in them. Only those whom are chosen of God by willing themselves to him will be assured a new perfect body, and eternal life. |

Matt 12:40 - For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth [the grave].  | Acts 13:35-37 - Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: But he, whom God raised again [Jesus], saw no corruption [decay]. | Jesus's body escaped decay. David's body however did decay, as with all mankind in graves, buried at sea, except those cremated (ashes can't decay).

Heb 9:27-28 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. | In death it is impossible to praise God, because ones entire sense of awareness is gone the moment they die. This includes; thoughts, feelings, dreams, and the awareness of being alive. When we take our last breath, our very existence is literally gone, and in time our body decomposes back to the dust [elements] where it came from. At Christ's call, God will create a new spiritual body for us, which is brought back to life. But not the same body we had before we died. The grave truly is the place of utter silence. |

John 11:1-44 - Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.). Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was. Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again? Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him . Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [after the resurrection]. Believest thou this? She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him. Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. | Jesus in the above passages was explaining to the ignorant disciples and others, that Lazarus was dead and had no power in himself to awaken. Jesus had to call him forth from death back to life. However Lazarus was not called forth in a newly resurrected body, but rather simply awakened from death and healed to remove the decomposing of his flesh (4 days in tomb) - he eventually would die a normal death. Jesus performed this miracle to show to the people the power and glory of God, plus to bring his friend back to the glory of life with Jesus and friends. A compassion miracle.  |

John 12:1-2 - Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. | John 12:9-10 - Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death [The Jews knew Lazarus could still die again]; | John 12:17-18 - The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. | When we sleep in the night we arise in the morning, yet when we sleep in the grave we arise to his calling, whether it be temporary or not. For those that disbelieve in him - like certain of the Jews, their calling will be only a temporary awakening (judgement), to be followed by eternal death [forever removed from life].
