What becomes of the Satan and the rest of the world? They are destroyed completely from the presence of God and all existence | Ps 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. | Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. | Matt 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? | 2 Pet 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. | The above scriptures state that the wicked ones are removed from the presence of life itself. The figurative usage of fire refers to an all consuming event with the smoke of the wicked vanishing into nothingness. These scriptures refer to the Day of the Lord, his wrath and final judgements of all wickedness. | Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate [in heaven], but left their own habitation [to corrupt earth], he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. | These angels were responsible for the wickedness of men in Noah's time. These angels were imprisoned by God because of the corruption they caused. | Ezek 28:17-19 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. | Satan himself because of his corrupted and conceited heart will be in the end utterly destroyed. First however he will deceive the nations with his false glory and promises. He will rise up as king of the world, the beast or son of perdition or the antichrist. This man directly possessed of by Satan [Satan's tool] will rise up and claim to be the one and only true God, by Satan's spirit power. He will accomplish this by wonders and miracles. By this act the world will believe him as the true God and will therefore worship him as such. Because of this they will believe the lie, which will lead to their damnation. | II Th 2:1-12 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. | This mystery of iniquity is the force behind all works of evil, everything from a simple lie to government corruption. These are the things which now are, and will be until the body of Christ is no longer in this world. This will be what has commonly been called the gathering together by the Christian world. It is our gathering unto him at his appearing unto us. It is our calling and our hope of salvation finally fulfilled. See "Some difficult to understand scriptures" link for a better understanding of the above passage. | 1Thes 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. | After the rapture event Satan will have his last and final stand as king of the world, then be destroyed by his own corruption. | Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. | Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. | In the end the devil, the beast, and the false prophet who deceived the people, are completely destroyed forevermore from all existence both to themselves and to others - in other words they will remain eternally nil. Therefore their wickedness will never again corrupt the paradise which God will create after the end of this world, for they will never be alive again. |
