Law: Ten Commandments

Obedience to God or not?

Exd 20:1-17 KJV - And God spake all these words [by Moses (in the Hebrew language, as was written on rock slabs; small enough, held in hand/s). God engraved his words to the Jews], saying, (I) I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (II) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (III) Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (IV) Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (V) Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. (VI) Thou shalt not kill. (VII) Thou shalt not commit adultery. (VIII) Thou shalt not steal. (IX) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (X) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's. | The preceding passage details the known ten commandments, which were originally given to the Jews, whom were chosen of God of all nations at the time. Why Jews? Ask God. Actually, the choice was because of heritage. So therefore God guided the Jews only, till Christ. The heathen were left to their own devices, which were evil. Likewise today, we are engulfed in sins. The father of evil, Satan has been the invisible ruler of this world since the fall of man. |

2Ki 17:15 KJV - And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that [were] round about them, [concerning] whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them. | The Jews rejected God, just like the heathen did. |

2Ch 36:14 KJV - Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem. | And in the rejection, condemned themselves, as biblical history foretells. |

Mal 4:4 KJV - Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments. | The Jews were continuing the rejection, so were reminded. Then comes Jesus into the picture, to change things. | Mat 5:17,18 KJV - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. | Jesus fulfilled all, by his death. But during his hour alive here, he was bombed by the Jews. | Mat 22:34-40 KJV - But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying, Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. | Jesus expelled the truth, that love is the core of the law of God. Which Paul later expounds upon. | Luk 16:16 KJV - The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. | The first verse tells of the new way, which is ignored by most. The second verse, is widely abused, extolling the bondage of law. | Gal 4:9 KJV - But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? | Gal 5:1 KJV - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. The Jews then were still mentally bound by the law (Christianity was a new thing), so were exhorted to let it go, and accept freedom in Christ. | 2Cr 11:3 KJV - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. | As stated in these previous verses, Christ is not; law/ritual, but rather liberty/freedom. | Anyway, back to the Gospel period (Jesus). | Luk 24:44 KJV - And he said unto them, These [are] the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and [in] the prophets, and [in] the psalms, concerning me. | Jesus is affirming his ancient prophesied truth, that he fulfill the law by his work of God. | Jhn 1:17 KJV - For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. | A work which would later reveal grace. And that's where it time we are today. |

Rom 3:19-31 KJV - Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation [holy payment] through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. | The above passage speaks for itself, that the law is not hope/salvation, but rather simple faith/belief is. |

Rom 3:29 KJV - [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. | God is no respecter of people period, just their intents of heart. |

Hbr 4:12 KJV - For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. | No matter our life details (story), God knows, and judges us. Our best plan is to accept God (YHWY), not religion. The latter is corrupt unto unholy degrees, and thus will be destroyed before the end. |

Rom 6:14,15 KJV - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. | We are gifted grace by God, but yet still should be good, not commit sin. |

Rom 7:1-25 KJV - Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to [her] husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of [her] husband. So then if, while [her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, [even] to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [was] dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which [was ordained] to life, I found [to be] unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me]. Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that [it is] good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. | This above confusing passage is figurative much, but simply deals with material vs. spiritual aspect. That although we Christians may inadvertently sin as humans do by given nature (smoke, drink, drugs, sex, etc.), we still should keep our minds focused on God. And if we do such, God recognizes it, and forgives us.. continually even. |

Rom 8:1-7 KJV - [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. | If we are Christian, we should so also present. Yet still our heart are bent on sin. The latter of which is our borne nature. And seems animals, insects, etc, are same driven | Satan's game is but a mystery to us. |

Rom 9:31 KJV - But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Rom 9:32 KJV - Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; | And the same exact trend continues in the modern church era; obedience, ritual, etc. | Rom 10:4 KJV - For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. | Yet God stated that the yoke is off of us now? | Rom 13:8 KJV - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.Rom 13:10 KJV - Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.

1Cr 15:56 KJV - The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law. | Love (compassion) fulfills all religious law elements. Not logical laws, as those are always needed, and therefore have no fulfillment or promise, except continual obedience; traffic, crime, etc. |

Gal 2:16-21 KJV - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, [is] therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. | As Christians, we are admonished to follow Gods way, which is not exactly by the law anymore. |

Gal 3:1-29 KJV - O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, [saying], In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though [it be] but a man's covenant, yet [if it be] confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, [that] the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance [be] of the law, [it is] no more of promise: but God gave [it] to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one.[Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. | In short, this above long confusing passage summarizes things. That Christ is the only way to believe. |

Gal 4:4 KJV - But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. | According to prophesy, was the messiah. God later explained things. | Gal 5:4 KJV - Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. | If we deny Christ, yet obey the law, we are not in grace. Justice by law, is not salvation by God. The law cannot save us. | Gal 5:14 KJV - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. | LOVE is the key factor. | Gal 5:18 KJV - But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. | For in the spirit is LOVE. |

Eph 2:15 KJV - Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; | Jesus annulled the law to salvation. |

Phl 3:9 KJV - And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: | Faith being our only key. |

1Ti 1:9 KJV - Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, | The law explained. The ugly aspects are figurative. Basically those whom love sin. Which includes all whom imbibe. Many need to a law to tell right from wrong. |

Jam 1:25 KJV - But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. | If we do good, we are blessed in the work. Christian or not, that's a fact. |

Jam 2:8-12 KJV - If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. | Basically if we do good and not evil? |

Jam 4:11 KJV - Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. | If we judge others, there must be just cause. |

1Jo 3:4 KJV - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. | Sin is of Satan, whom is the originator of it. | What more be said? Those whom command 'holy laws' are ignorant of Gods's truth. Included are more than can be detailed comfortably here. Does the whole modern Christian world really want to know where they are in this 'dark' game in prophesy?
