| And the Word was God |

Is Jesus God? The below dissected passage, is another commonly used to support Trinitarian doctrine. Note that the passage is highly poetically figurative, which I will try to expound with notes and highlighting. Jhn 1:1-23 KJV - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. | The reference is on God here. God alone created ALL | Gen 1:1 KJV - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. | Isa 40:26 KJV - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these [things], that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one faileth. | Isa 45:18 KJV - For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I [am] the LORD; and [there is] none else. | Jesus was yet to be born, but also was in God's foreknowledge in the beginning, just as we Christians were. | 1Pe 1:20 KJV - Who [Jesus] verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, | Eph 1:4 KJV - According as he hath chosen us [Christians] in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: | God alone holds the mystery master plan. | In him [God] was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (figurative verse). | The word of God is the will of God, they are one and the same (same with us, and our word; forms of expression). God spoke truth, and the people (mankind) were deaf (preferring 'sin' instead?). | There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John [the baptist]. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light [Jesus], that all [men] through him [Jesus] might believe. He [John] was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light. [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. | Reference is now centered on Jesus Christ, and his earthly ministry. | He [God] was in the world [presence, word], and the world was made by him [created], and the world knew him not [denial?]. He [Jesus] came unto his own [Jews], and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God [Christians]. | The reference returns back to God here, but now through Jesus. | 2Cr 5:19 KJV - To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. | The Jews rejected Christ (Gods word in the flesh), but the gentiles didn't, and so was born Christianity (God's word in the spirit).. born again concept. | John was merely figuratively prophesizing about things, as Pentecost was yet to come. | And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. | The reference returns back to Christ here... | 1Ti 2:5 KJV - For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; | ...as God's mediator. | For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. | None on earth have yet seen God, as that isn't possible with man. We can only see within our limited human scope. | And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask [question, confront] him , Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I [am] the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. | John being confronted by the cold hearted religious Jewish leaders, answered in vague form, to confound them. He simply quoted the scripture, which they already knew. He did not reveal to them the truth of Christ, whom made known the heart of the invisible God (a spirit, and the creator). Note: Either poor
grammar, or translation error, or simply odd Greek writing style.
Anyway, the parenthetical grammar in this main passage perplexes most.
Which on a surface read (material), easily supports Trinitarian dogma.
However a depth read (spiritual) reveals the simple truth of the
passage. And that is exactly what I've expounded above.
Original
John 1:1-23+ (excluding my interjections) 1Cr 15:20-28 KJV - But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under [him, it is] manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. | The passage above clearly indicates who is whom in the holy status game. Even Jesus himself declares the fact of his lower status. | Jhn 14:28 KJV - Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. | But in apparent contradiction, he then exclaims... Jhn 10:29-38 KJV - My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand. I and [my] Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him. | Jhn 5:30 KJV - I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. | Basically, Jesus was one in purpose with God in his works, and not of the same exact entity. | Exploring other usages of

Note: KJV Concordance for -word- / (occurs 699 times in 675 verses in the KJV). Also within these many verses are many spiritual gems of truth, which sadly are misunderstood by the majority of mainstream modern Christianity. However as these above verses examples are merely given for the definition of 'word' itself used in bible, no context structure or interpretation is indicated for them, but most verses interpret themselves. These above verses above should basically sum up the nature of the 'word' or 'Word'. It is Gods word (message), which was first in his foreknowledge from before the creation; then as it was given to the prophets of old time as a standard for the people to live by; and finally as it was given through Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son for reconciling men back to God. Trinitarian teachings seem mostly to prevail in the new testament and not so much in the old testament. In these verses the 'word' refers to the commandments given by god to the people, in order that they may live in the manner of righteousness - which is right believing. In the new testament the 'word' or 'Word' is referred to as; the scriptures, as Christ the declarer of God, and as God's own word of truth, which was from the very beginning. No extranial biblical revelations are given by God these day. The bible has been signed and sealed by God forevermore long ago. |
